95% of your needs are covered by standard Business Central and vendor-independent apps
Business Central can do many, many things. But most customers will, sooner or later,
need to add extra functionality to the solution.
We work on the principle of,
that 95% of customers’ needs can be covered by standard Business Central and vendor-independent apps
– the rest is solved with Extensions. And this has actually proven to be true.
Only 5% require development
If we look at the latest projects we have completed, our customers have chosen to integrate between 1 and 12 vendor-independent apps with their standard Business Central solution. The number of apps depends entirely on the complexity of the customer’s needs and solution. Only 5% of the functionality requested by customers needed to be developed.
Retailer-independent apps
In the past, many tried to add the functionality they needed to Dynamics NAV/Navision using industry-specific solutions or custom development.
This meant that many customers, when purchasing the custom industry solutions, also had to buy a lot of functionality they didn’t really need or pay for expensive custom development.
But when Business Central was launched, Microsoft also introduced the ability to add apps to the solution. Some vendors now moved some of the functionality from the industry-specific solutions into proprietary apps or custom development.
But this doesn’t necessarily leave customers much better off in terms of inflexibility and dependence on a single vendor.
We do it differently
We primarily use vendor-independent apps because it’s the best solution for our customers. With vendor-independent apps, customers retain their flexibility and independence and avoid expensive and cumbersome custom solutions that may not be able to keep up with Microsoft’s updates.
The retailer-independent apps that we work with
- Apps that can be supported by many different retailers.
- Apps that are developed by companies that have the necessary resources and employees to further develop the app and that have a healthy economy.
- Apps that have a certain number of users.
This gives customers some assurance that the app will still be here tomorrow – and that it will continue to evolve and keep up with Microsoft’s updates.
