The Product Configurator is an add-on to Business Central that, among other things, significantly simplifies the creation of parts lists and routes or assembly parts lists. It makes quote and order generation more efficient.

Easily calculate sales quotes and orders

You can choose to set up a base item or select an item that has already been customized and then make changes to it. As you change the item, the retail price will be calculated automatically.

Automatically generate BOMs and routes

With the product configurator, you no longer need to manually specify every single item and part that goes into your products. Every time you configure a new product, a new assembly or production BOM is automatically generated. This saves you time and increases accuracy.

Easily configure rules

The product configurator allows you to set combination rules for specific products. For example, if you build a bike and choose a specific handlebar, a specific light will be included, while the bell will be excluded.

Apply multipliers

When it comes to material usage, multipliers can also be used to ensure that automatically generated BOMs include extra material used for production purposes. For example, a window frame may require an additional 10% frame material for production purposes. Material that will be cut away during production.

Set up complex rules

The product configurator has a simple user interface and is easy to use. Depending on your permissions, you can easily create and set up the configurator settings. You see all options simultaneously, giving you a complete overview.

If you need more complex rules that cannot be easily set up in the general user interface, you can use the included API. It is configured with C/AL Editor and allows you to create scripts for rules without a developer license.
